Engaging Youth and Stakeholders

PoHEO Organizers focus on engaging young people and residents. Organizers also connect youth with leadership opportunities, encourage youth to develop a connection with their community, guide youth to build relationships with youth serving organizations and other stakeholders.

There is sometimes challenging communication and misunderstandings between youth, residents, business owners and city services. Organizers work to build open and honest conversations on the roles and responsibilities of youth in our communities.

Dialog is around the dangers and consequences of drugs, alcohol, and not attending school. Establishing a relationship is key to a two-way dialog built on understanding and respect. PoHEO is excited to continue facilitating these conversations and fostering a community of open dialogue between our youth and stakeholders.
